A Different Street
A Different Street (ADS) Supportive Housing works to reduce homelessness by providing affordable accommodations to young men 16 years and older who are unstably housed, and are at risk of or involved in the Youth Criminal Justice System. ADS works within the Housing First framework and through the assistance of on-site counsellors, residents are able to address challenges which may otherwise place their housing at risk.
Each resident is provided their own semi furnished bachelor apartment, access to a communal lounge, and on-site food cupboard.
Youturn Youth Support Services has partnered with the John Howard Society of Ottawa, to provide ADS two on-site Community Support Team (CST) workers, and clinical supervision.
ADS residents are young men with potential criminal justice involvement, who face significant challenges with respect to mental health, academic success, peer relations, familial relations, substance use, employment, trauma, and independent living skills.
Referrals can be made through the Ottawa Housing Registry, or by contacting the Program Director, Krystle Fountotos at firstname.lastname@example.org.
